Architectural Design
Our main goals in architectural design:
1. Integrated Design
We integrate Landscape and Architectural design with all project design disciplines in order to optimize building performance and aesthetics. Prior to initiating any schematic design, we perform a series of coordination meetings with all project design disciplines/consultants to explore performance and functional objectives that could impact building orientation, massing, space adjacencies, material selections, and assemblies. A project’s functional and performance needs are integral to achieving the optimum Principles.
2. Performance Measures and Functional Objectives
Our design supports quality based performance measures for customer satisfaction, energy consumption, reduced operations and reduced maintenance. We also identify all functional expectations and establish alternative features that support attainment. To the maximum extent possible, our team apply those architectural elements that optimize building performance and functional capabilities. Performance and functional issues raised in the project’s design program are specifically addressed in concept presentations.
3. Urban Context
Facility design and orientation are consistent with existing and planned development patterns and nearby uses. The building’s exterior should be consistent with existing local design guidelines.Where appropriate, our project team helps to develop design guidelines for the project and neighboring undeveloped sites.
We provide following services:
- Architectural design of all types and uses of buildings, with emphasis on residential and business constructions with increased operational requirements,
- landscape design and architecture,
- specialized interior and detailed design
- Bioclimatic design - taking into account local climate & environmental conditions in order to achieve minimum energy consumption and optimal thermal comfort inside. We design architectural elements avoiding common dependence on mechanical system, which are regarded as support (natural or mixed mode ventilation, total thermal building envelope insulation, use of solar energy and other environmental sources)
Our studies are full of construction details at every stage, in order to achieve detailed implementation, for example:
- details for basement waterproofing (flexible waterproofing of basement structures according to the different levels of exposure and requirements)
- masonry construction plans, reinforcement details
- external frame drawings and details (windows, doors, roof windows, skylights)
- drywall construction drawings, decorative items
- light fixture and artificial light plans and studies (incl. landscape and outdoor lighting)
- planning layout for ceramic tiles and mosaic (especially in bathrooms)
- detail plans to avoid thermal (cpld) bridge
- fireplace plans and instructions
- waterproofing plans for roofs, terraces, balconies
- sided building's plans, color suggestions, landscape integration plans
- inspirational interior design plans
We use the integrated building design, as defined by the American Institute of Architects (AIA): using multidisciplinary analysis and accountability we achieve high performance and sustainable design objectives that are environmentally, socially, and financially responsible (integrated design focused contracts and an integrated project delivery process). The resulting design reflects environmentally, socially, and financially responsible design, and includes fully integrated site development and architecture. We work on following steps:
- Step 1: We initially perform exploratory meetings in our office in order to achieve an effective channel of communication with the client, to understand hisr needs and the style of building he/she may wish. The needs and desires of the customer are recorded in detail.
- Step 2: Our team of architects decode the planning legislation at the certain area, taking into account the records of the meetings with the client. The team prepares two or three alternatives - recommendations at draft. At this stage we can afford absolute accuracy according to the location of the building on the landscape, the allowable data layout, the floor plans and the facades. We use early modeling tools and visualization modeling.
- Step 3: further meetings should be carried with the client, where an exchange of views will correct those elements required in order to come closer to the desired result. The team of architect engineers record observations and new data in order to utilize them to improve the proposed solution.
- Step 4: we can now introduce the proposed solution as an integrated concept, using visualization modelling. At the last meetings with the client the latest issues can be solved.
Important note: even at this early stage of design, we work as a multidisciplinary team of engineers. This means that engineers of the structural and electomechanical design departments work in close cooperation with the architectural team to ensure It must also ensure that the design is practically buildable within acceptable manufacturing tolerances of the materials, to allow the architecture to work, and the building services to fit within the building and function an to avoid unpleasant surprise during construction surprises regarding the non-applicability of the study.
- Step 5 - Final Stage: Before construction, and if the customer wishes, our team can provide with extra detailed plans to ensure the high application quality. This stage is still optional.
Our design methodology offers owners and construction teams the opportunity to create high-performance buildings while achieving cost savings in the following ways:
- Early collaboration between design team members and owners inherently results in more integrated solutions and provides opportunities to greatly affect long term energy, water, and other operational savings through design.
- We achieve clearer construction documentation and reduced change orders, which offers time and budget savings.
- We achieve reduction in system sizes. This requires analysis of energy conservation measures (ECM’s) that may first seem to be beyond the point of diminishing returns, but may ultimately result in changes to affected systems that can reduce overall costs.
With a comprehensive understanding and correct implementation of our design plans, our building team can offer advanced high-performance solutions through more efficient and creative methods. In addition, our integrated design offers a tremendous opportunity to design and construct better buildings, achieve capital and operational cost savings, and implement advanced design and construction strategies.
